To Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield Newca[stle] 21st April 1769

Sir

Messrs Surtees & Liddells Note for Roff is £71 4s 11d whereas their dues in your pay bill are only £68 18s 2d. The Difference being £2 6s 9d appears to lye in the Rookhope Account. & to consist of wood got by Jno Curry, & by John Smith; who are people that I should not think at all proper to get wood for Sir Wr Blackett. If you have any notes of the Wood got for that Mill I wish you would examine them before you come down, that the Difference may be the more easily adjusted when you are here. I am etc HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
