To Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield Newcas. 22 Janry 1771 Sir When I received your Letter I approved much of your proposal of trying to get some Lead away from Dukesfield Mill during the Frost - but the Change of Weather has put an End to that Scheme. It will certainly be right, as soon as you know the Lead, of last Years Delivery, is all got to Blaydon, to agree with a Sufficient Number of able carriers about the Carriage of this Lead from the Bankfoot & the reason you give first is a very good one but then Care must be taken that by giving any Set of Men an Exclusive right to carry the Lead We do not put it within their Power to carry only when it suits their own Conveniency without regarding the Want there may be of the Lead at Market. What you say of the corn got of J Angus towards payment of his Arrear is very well. Pray am I not to have some Silver soon from Dukesfield Refinery, & I desire each Clerk will let me have his Decr. Months Accot. as soon as he can. I wish you and Mrs Hunter a happy New Year. My Wife desires her Compliments & I am etc HR
