Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield Newcas 28h Febry 1773 Sir Mr Surtees asks rather too much for his Lane, except we are to be intitled, as you mentioned when here tho’ you do not say any Thing of it in your Letter, to a priviledge of laying Sir Wrs Lead where Mr Fenwick cannot prevent us. if this to be the Case & Sir Walter is to have the intire use of the Lane, to the Exclusion of every body but those he Chuses, then I would make no Objection to the Rent for a Term of 21 Years - but I have a wrote to Sir Walter for his Sentiments about it and Expect an Answer this day or to morrow - Se’night - so if you could be here on Tuesday Se’night we might consider of all the Clauses proper to be inserted in a Lease in Case Sir Walter agrees to take one, & you can then get Mr Heron to prepare one to wait upon Mr Surtees with - I reced the Specimen you sent of the Letters for the pans of the Refined Lead & think they might have been better executed, particularly the B which has not Body enough. but nevertheless if you can get them fixed Close in the pan they may answer the purpose very well - it will be proper before you use these to have a Sett of Cast Metals ones at each Mill for the other Sorts of Lead - but when you Come down we may Consult further about this Measure. PS. I desire you will let me have the Mill Accots & the general Accots of the Mill Clerks as soon as possible I am etc HR
