To Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield Newcas. 29 April 1770 Sir I am desirous of knowing what is now doing at Rookhope Mill as well as what has been done ever since Xmas. for I have no Acct. either of the Smeltings delivery or Stock without wch. I cannot settle the last years Accts. and therefore beg you will as soon as possible send me the Months Acct. for Decemr. & let the rest follow when you are able to make them out. pray is Walton fixed at the Mill and how is he provided with Accommodations? This month has been so wet that no Lead has been got in of all the quantity in the ways but 150 pds. so that I do not know how you can set on the new Carriage & yet I want to have you begin it as soon as you can otherwise I may lose the Market for the Lead. I hear the Quakers Co. have got a good quantity of their Lead from Aston Mill as far as Apperley. P.S. I sho[ul]d suppose you have some progress in your reckonings & desire you will let me know as soon as you can what Sum you think you will want for your pay. Since I wrote the above I have rece’d the Acct. I wanted for Decemr. & have only to say that I have no Objection to your proposal of setting on the Carriage on Monday Se’night if you can make out in whose hands the last year’s Lead is remaining. . I am etc HR
