To  Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield                                         Newcas.   5th Octor. 1771



Sir      I have no Objection to making the pay to the Carriers of the Dukesfield & Allanheads Lead from Apperley to Blaydon on the first Monday after Martin[ma]s day, which is the 18th Nov[embe]r as you propose, & hope all that Lead will be got in before that time.  the first time I see Mr Reynoldson I shall tell him to get ready against that day but as I said before I should not chuse to make him the pay Master of such a Sum, but that you should pay it at Dukesfield or else at Mr Mulcasters house or Mr Reynoldson’s at Blaydon, as you chuse.           I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
