To Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield Newca[stle] 5 Septemr 1769 I desire you will give directions that the Lead of the Langtihead ore be marked O & that you will let me know the Name of the Smelter at Rookhope Mill whose Lead is stamped with C – for it is all lighter than any other Lead Sir Wr has, not a pig of it weighing Eleven stone. Pray let Mr Harrison know that this is taken Notice of and that he is thought blameable for it. I should be glad to have an Acco[un]t of the marks put on the Lead at each Mill, to distinguish the sorts of Lead; because there may now be occasion to vary some of them & I cannot say that I remember them all perfectly. Notwithstanding what I have frequently desired, the Mill Clerks are far from being punctual with their Monthly Acco[un]ts from Rookhope & Allanheads Mill; especially the latter, from whom I have not yet received either June or July Acco[un]t & from the former I have not got the July Acco[un]t. I have Complained of this so often, in vain, that I must now desire you will make it a Rule in your Monthly Visits to get them made up & send me them yourself within a fortnight after the End of the Month P.S. I desire you will forward the Letters, inclosed herewith, by the first safe opportunity. I am etc HR
