To Mr Isaac Hunter at Dukesfield                                                              Newcastle 6 April 1767

Sir

I have rec[eiv]ed your acco[un]ts, & wish to have your pay made as soon as possible: on Wednesday Se[ven]night the 15th inst, if you can; & if you think that will be giving sufficient notice. If that day will not do, I do not know when I can fix it except the Wednesday follow[in]g tho’ it will not be convenient to me. However take your choice & let me know what day you chuse & also let Mr Bell know it. for you are to have some money of him. You will be here on Sunday Evening, receive yo[u]r Money on the Monday, go home on Tuesday & pay on Wednesday. Let me hear from you by the first post. I am etc  HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
