Richd Wilson Esq ... Leeds ... Yorkshire

  On the 13th instant I sent a Bill for £300 of which the above is a Copy, [see letter of same date to Richard Wilson] by the post directed to Richd Wilson Esq Leeds, Yorkshire on Account of his Kenton Rents and desired he would advise the receipt of it, but have not yet been favoured with a Letter about it—so that I do not know what to conclude—whether the Bill has miscarried, or it is thro multiplicity of business that the giving me the necessary advice is neglected – in either case my uneasiness makes me beg you will let me know whether such a Bill is come to hand or not and that you will do so by return of the post 

  For the future I wish Mr Wilson would give you discretion to advise me of such bills as I shall send him: for I do assure you it is a very great Abatement from the pleasure I have in acting for him that my bills are not advised of regularly

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
