To Jerrard Strickland Esq Newcas 3rd Janry 1772 York Sir I received the favour of your letter but I do not know of any person likely to buy such an Estate in Yorkshire as you describe but I will enquire among our married men and if any them seem inclined to such a purchase I shall acquaint you immediately. My wife joins me in compliments and wishes for many happy years, to you a & Miss Stricklands I am etc HR Postscript to the above letter 4 Janry 1772 Sir Wa Blackett bids me to add a postscript, that finding the Subscriptions in this Neighbourhood for the relief of sufferers by the late Inundations are not extended to Yorkshire - he is desirous of subscribing £50 to be paid to the Committee in the Co of York for the relief of sufferers by the late Inundations, to be applied by them as they should think fit- Accordingly. I have sent you inclosed Bell and Cos bill on Glyn & Co for Fifty pounds which I shall be obliged to you if you will advise me by return of post you have reced. I am etc HR
