To Mr John Bell at Mr Ellis’s in Hexham                                         Newca[stle] 16th Decem 1768

Sir

I have wrote to Mr Douglas and the other Tenants of Ord Estate that you will be at Tweedmouth on the second of Janry in the Evening with Mr Forster, to receive the rents – I have fixed that day for your being there, because on the next there is something of a meeting talked of to be held in relation to the Fisheries, about which I will tell you more when I see you here, which I desire may be on or before Friday the 23d instant on Acco[un]t of the Beef and Bread Charity as I mentioned in my last. I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
