I find by a Letter from Mr Douglas, that the work is all done at the pitmens houses etc at Unthank and that the people will want their Money: So, as the Colliery rent & other rents there are due, Sir Walter thinks Mr Brown Mr Forster and you should go over the week after next and settle all these Matters. You will please to let me know by return of the post whether you can be here on Sunday Evening the 24th instant to talk and consider of the several Articles and receive the papers that may be necessary to be carried with you and then proceed the next day to Alnwick where Mr Forster and Mr Brown will meet you and go on to Tweedmouth the next day. I have received the draught of the Lease to Mr Wilson & p[ar]tners and shall talk with my Brother about what you mention concerning the Commencement of it. I suppose you have the present Lease. Sir Walter agrees to your selling the few old Alders which you say are on Sams island; after you have consulted Mr Wray about the value of them. As to Gunnerton Colliery Mr Charleton of Leehall has agreed to be confined to the bounds of Gunnerton Fell; for the Coal to be got within which he is to pay £60 a year certain rent and 3d a fother as an Acorning rent – the rest of the particulars I shall acquaint you of when I see you – in the mean time I am etc   HR
