To Mr John Bell at Mr Ellis’s in Hexham                                           Newca[stle] 18 Decem 1768

Sir

Inclosed is the Draught of the Articles for the purchase of Hexham East Ferry boat which Mrs Jurin has agreed to so I send you them to get Mr Heron to engross them agreeable to what you said Sir Walter told you to do. & the sooner it is got done the better as it is to be sent to London.

P.S. please to let me know that you have rec[eiv]ed the draught. I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
