To Mr John Bell at Mr Ellis’s in Hexham                                               Newca[stle] 26 Sept 1769

Sir

Sir Walter Blackett bids me write you that he will be at the Meeting at Chollerford on Thursday next and would have you be there by Ten o’Clock that Morning; that he may talk over with You any matters of business that occur to you. Among the others you will mention the Wood you wrote me about. And Mrs Soulsby’s Arrear for the tithe of Hallington Mains. Sir Walter desires you will call at the Hermitage on Thursday & enquire if Mr Simpson is there and if he will be there all Night, or whether he is gone to Bradley. I desire you will let me know who you think is the proper person to whom ten pounds a year can be paid for the benefit of Matt Lee the Minor that claimed Ritson’s Estate  And also the proper person £7 10s 0d can be paid to for the benefit of Edward Fenwick the Minor whom I wrote you about – for Sir Walter has executed bonds for the payment of these Sums.

Pray desire Mr Greenwell to insert in his plan the Names of all places that have Names. that we may not be at a Loss to understand either our own State of the Case or our Adversary’s.

Mr Fawcett is clearly of opinion Nun Bush Allotment must pay tithe to Sir Walter. I am etc    HR
