Sir    I received your letter about Isaac Walton which is very Satisfactory.

    Dukesfield pay will be the beginning of May; against w[hi]ch time I wish you would be Collecting for me all the Money you can of the Tenants.  & I desire you will wait upon Mr Errington’s Steward and acquaint him that the £470 was due at Ladydy. last on the Note to Sir Wr. Blackett; & that the Note is in my hand.  You may mention that as Sir Wr. is going to be abroad you believe there is occasion for Money.  When you have an opportunity I desire you will let the Galloway called Handiside be bought.                   I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
