Sir       Your Letter yesterdays date about the boundary of the Ground let along with West Allan Lead Mill is satisfactory.

As to what you mention in it about the two little cornfields belonging to St John Lee Kirk farm; which you say Mr Rumney wants you to plow and to deduct the Expence of doing it out of the new Curates salary; It is to be considered that Mr Stokoe was only Tenant at will of that farm, and that therefore as his Ex[ecu]t[ri]x will be intitled to the way going crop she ought to plow and sow them, & not Sir Walter nor the Church Wardens. This is the Light it appears into me, but I desire you will consult Mr Ellis and if he and you think otherwise that you will let me know. Very probably Sir Walter will incline to let this farm to the new Curate; but I think he should advance it some small matter, at least, to prevent any claim in process of time to this farm as belonging to the Curacy.
