Letter – Henry Richmond to John Fenwick – 23 Mar 1764

Sir    The regular Way for the payment of the five hundred pounds, wch you want in part of Sir W[alter] Blacketts and W[ilia]m Peareth Esq[uire]s joint Bond to you for £2000, would have been for the Indorsem[en]t to be made & the money paid here for my coming over to Leeds is not practicable : however as Sir Walter is willing to accommodate you I have wrote to Mr < In.> Cross of Leeds as, you proposed ; and have desired him, in case you should apply to him to attend the making the said Endorsem[en]t, in such Form as so contained in my last Letter to you, of which I have sent him a Copy. And after they are made he will acquaint me of it, & then I can pay the Money to Mr Hull as you mention. Only, in your Letter of advice of your Bill, you will please express that you have drawn a Bill on me payable to Mr Hull for £547.10.0; of which Sum is in part of Sir W[alte]r Blackett’s & William Peareth Esq[uir]e joint Bond to you for £2000 agreeable to an Endorsem[en]t made by you and Mr Ward upon the said Bond. And that the rest of your said Draught, to wit £47.10.0 is in full for half a years intrest of the said £2000 due 12th May 1764.

If all this is properly done I hope you will meet with no disappointment. It is necessary it should be done, that Sir Walter may be safe & that I may have a sufficient Voucher to my Acco[un]t with him for the payment of this £547.10.0. I am etc                                             H R
