Sir

	I received your Letter of the 25th instant inclosing your Receipt for Forty seven pounds ten shillings for a year’s interest due 22nd instant on the £1000 remaining unpaid of Sir Walter Blacketts & Mr Peareths joint Bond to you; & inclosed I send you Bell & Cos Bill on Glyn and Co for the same Sum payable at 30 days from this day - & I desire you will advise the receiving it, that Accidents may be prevented

	I am obliged to you for the good opinion you Express of me in the in the offer you made of your Son: but I have no room for him in my office. Nor does the Nature of my business suit with taking a young Man in the Way you propose                      I am etc       HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
