Sir       I rec[eive]d your Letter of the 29th instant ; and as you say Mr Hall cannot accomodate you with money for your Draught upon me. I see no Way left but for you to receive the £547.10.0 ofme here. For as to my sending you Bills, you cannot depend upon it; for they are very scarce here & it may not be in my power to get one that will Suit your Time and Sum. There is a further Difficulty which attends this Way of transacting this Business and which is the Necessity of my having a Receipt in the particular form mentioned in my last Letter before I can part with the Money. For as the Endorsements on the Bond and the assignments remain with you. They alone cannot be a sufficient discharge for Sir W[alte]r Blackett, nor any Voucher to my Accounts. And the having a proper one on the paym[en]t of so large a Sum is what I must carefully attend to.

The Endorsements being made in Mr Cros’s presence, and his acquainting me thereof, which I Conclude he will lose no time in doing will answer the good purpose of saving Mr ward a journey nither or his sending the Bond and assignment over; which would otherwise have been Necessary.
