Sir I received your Letter and daresay it will be very agreeable to Sir Wr. Blackett that Mr Thos. Armorer should be accommodated with the Money due to him on the Bond you mention - in order thereto, as I do not suppose the Bond can be brought hither, it will be necessary to have an Endorsement made & signed by Mr Armorer on the Bond and that you should take the trouble of seeing it properly made in Words to the following Effect - “ Reced of Sir Wr Blackett Bt. by Henry Richmond the Sum of £100 being my share of the principal Sum of £200 secured by the within mentioned Bond All Intst, on the same having been paid to this day. As Witness my hand this __ day of __ 1770” & I desire that you and Mrs Armorer will witness the same. Mr Armorer must also sign a receipt for the same sum to be a Voucher for me (as the Bond will remain with Mrs Armorer) in words as follows “ Reced of Sir Wr Blackett Bt. by Henry Richmond the Sum of one hundred pounds being in full discharge of my share of the principal Sum of £200 secured by the said Sr Wr’s Bond to etc - for the benefit etc & dated etc - All Intst, on the said £200 having been paid to this day. As Witness my hand this __ day of __ 1770”& you & Mrs Armorer will please to Witness the same. there must also be another receipt for the Intst to the day of the Endorsement, which you will please to cast up & let the receipt be vizt. “Reced of Sir Walter Blackett Bart. by Mr Henry Richmond the Sum of __ being the Interest of £200 at 5 percentm. from the __ to this day which £200 is the Principal Sum secured by the said Sir Walter’s Bond to __ dated __ As Witness my hand this __ day of __ 1770” This receipt I suppost should be signed by Mrs Armorer but that you will be the judge of. Besides there must be a Certificate of the Register of Mr Armorer’s baptism obtained, to show that he is at Age to receive this money. When I receive your Letter that such an Endorsement is made & at the same time receive the s[ai]d certificate & the two receipts I shall be ready to pay the Money to any person that shall be ordered to call for it or shall send a Bill on London but in that Case I must have instructions to whom it is to be made payable and to whom I am to remit it. I have here written a scrambling Letter in haste, that I might not lose a post but I believe you will understand the meaning of it and am etc HR
