Sir

	You will see the Advertisement for the Sale of Unthank in the Papers agreeable to what passed between us - to which I have little to add at present but that the whole of The Threap ground contains about 165 Acres by the Survey we have - As to a new one Mr Ra Forster has undertaken to get it done in October next and as to the Colliery the certain Rent of it is £200 a year from 1st January 1772 for 21 years for 200 Tonns of Coals with an accruing Rent of £20 a tonn for the Surplus Workings but the Tenants to be at Liberty at the End of the 7th year on Notice.  The Lease of the land Expires at Mayday next and there are no outgoings that I know of but if you please to send for John Anderson the Tenant he will inform you if he pays any and whether he pays all sorts of Tithes or is Exempt from any - Please to let me know if you learn any Thing from Jn Anderson if there are any outgoings & send me a Draft of the Conditions of Sale                                                       I am etc                      HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
