To Mr John Horn at Mr Jas Bencrofts in the New Street Leeds            Newca[stle] 15th July 1769

Sir

I received your Letter and am sorry you should have so much trouble, as you Complain of, about getting your money from the people you send for it. The last Sum was paid to Mr John Foster, the Leeds Carrier, who I dare say will not detain the money from You. I do not know of any better Way of conveying the Money to you. if you should think of any, I shall be very glad of it. P.S. If you have not got the Money from Mr Forster you may give my Compliments to him and shew him this Letter & I dare say he will pay you directly. & am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
