Sir

I have direction from Sir Walter Blackett to pay you one hundred pounds towards the Augmentation of Bingfield chapel: which you may have whenever you find it convenient to favour me with a Call; or if it suits you better you may draw upon me for it, only mentioning in the bill, or in the Letter of Advice, that it is Sir Walter Blacketts benefaction for that purpose. I congratulate you on your promotion & with Comp[limen]ts to Mrs Sharp I am etc   P.S. I have given Mr Ellison a parcell to day directed for you to be left with me. Your Correspondent always stiles me Attorney at Law which I have not the honour of being. HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
