To The Rev[eren]d Dr Sharp at Newcas[tle] 31 July 1764 Hartburn Sir I spoke to Mr Newton sometime ago to draw a plan of St Nicholas’ Steeple and expect it will be done in a week or ten Days. Mr Fawcett is preparing a draught of the Deeds to be inrolled to compleat the Grants of Ninebanks & Whitley Chapel yards. Inclosed I return you the copy of the Petition to the Archbishop of York for consecrating Ninebanks Chapel Yard which I suppose was signed by Sir W[alte]r Blackett and has been presented to His Grace. If so, I am sorry that you have therein called the Living of Allandale a perpetual curacy; for it is aDonation, and has never been liable to presentation or lapse. The stiling it a perpetual Curacy in this petition may occasion Disputes hereafter, and be of prejudice to the prescription which has invariably been preserved as to this donative. P.S. I hope you will have an answer soon from Mr Chester. I am etc H R
