To Mr Matt Reynaldson at Newcastle 19th July 1765 Blaydon Sir Mr George Dunn tells me that Edward Chicken Cuthb[er]t Nixon & John Wilson of Barloe, have notwithstanding all woods are reserved out of their Leases, cut and sold corfrods openly upon their farms at Winlaton; that John Barras of Whickham bought part of them and the Corver upon Barloe fell the rest; that they do not deny their having cut and sold them for they say they are allowed so to do; which is a very extraordinary thing and I desire you will enquire into it & try if you can get any account of the quantity they have cut! Mr Dunn says that Thomas Graham, who cut his corfrods cut those that Edward Chicken sold. I should be glad to have a ticket of the Lead you have weighed to Mr Dalton as soon as you can. P.S. I should have wrote to you two or three days ago if I had not expected you in Town with your Ticket & am etc HR
