                    London

Sir Inclosed I send you Bell Cookson & Cos. four Bills on Glyn & Hallifax for Two Thousand pounds, as above, which I desire you will place to the Credit of Sir Wr. Blacketts Account and that you will please to advise me by return of the post that you have received these Bills and placed them accordingly. Sir Walter having settled it that your Letters of Advice shall be a discharge to me for such Sums as I shall remit you for his use. These Bills are at too long a date, but, if you should find necessary for Sir Wr,’s occasions to discount one or all of them, the Drawers are under promise to repay Sir Walter that Discount. Their Want of Effects in London, and the failure of two of our London Waggoners having disabled them from drawing at a Shorter date. So if there should be anything of this sort to charge them with I desire you will let me know about it. I am etc HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
