Sir      I am very glad to hear you recover so well; but as it must be a work of time to re-establish your Health I do not look for your Assistance in buying the Beef for the poor on Saturday the 30th. Instant; but only desire you will speak to Mr Sadler to come in against that day to help us, for I think Mr Curry is not so able as formerly.  Mr Sadler is the only person, next to yourself, that I can think of, & therefore I should be glad to have a Line from you that I may know certainly whether I may depend on his being here on Friday the 29 instant.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
