To Mr Ralph Forster at Wallington Newca[stle] 16th Decer 1768 Sir I have a Letter from Sir Wr Blackett in which he tells me there is a Scheme on foot among the people in Berwick for an application in parliament this Sessions, for an Act for improving the Fisheries in the Tweed – What the Tendency of this may be or how it will affect Sir Wrs int[e]r[es]t is a Thing to be examined into; & therefore Sir Walter desires that Mr Bell and you may be there on the second of January, because there is an Intention of holding a Meeting the next day upon this business. Sir Walter does not approve of so hasty an application but would have it put off till next Year, & he has desired that we may talk the Matter over together before you go. Mr Bell will be here on Friday Evening the 23 instant & stay a day or two and I wish you could meet him. If you cannot I shall tell him Sir Wrs Sentiments of this affair and that some others that he desires may be looked into when you are at Berwick. I am etc HR
