Mr Ralph Heron Attorney at Law Newcas 28th April 1775

          In Hexham

Sir

The Weights & Measures which were ordered by Sir Walter Blackett for the Court at Hexham near four Years ago are now come & in his Office here - I shall send them to you as soon as I know you are at Home or you will please to order the Carrier to call for them. I shod be glad to know, when you open the Boxes, what they contain as I have not unpacked them here. Young Mr Baker called upon me the other day with the Counterpart of the Lease of Hackford Mine executed only by Mrs Baker & said that Lawyer Hopper had told them her executing was sufficient but I was not satisfied with That as the Lease is made to Lord Strathmore Mr John Baker Mr Hopper & Mrs Baker jointly & without saying they are Extors of George Baker Esqr so I reserved the Lease till I should hear further & shod know your Opinion about it. Mr Bell was saying you wanted one of the Acts of Parliament about Blanchland & Hexham Boundary - I can let you have one by any Opportunity you direct; for I desired Mr Darwin to send me some of them but he sent so few that I thought it right to be carefull of them for Sir Wrs Office & did not doubt you wod have had a Sufficient Number sent you as Attorney in the Commission. I am etc HR
