To Richd Wilson Esqr Leeds Yorkshire Newca[stle] 5th Septr 1768 Sir I rec[eiv]ed your Letter from Scarborough inclosing the Draught of the conveyance of East Kenton which I shall get engrossed with a Counterpart inserting the exception about the Leases etc; as I wrote you and making some Additions to the parcels to continue them down to the present possessors. The dra[ugh]t and Counterpart as Sir Wr Blackett desires me, I shall send as soon as engrossed and as to the expence of it he will agree to whatever is the practise in the like Cases. Mr Darwin proposes an Addition to one Clause in the draught according to the words scored under as follows “viz – All deeds Evidences and writings relating to or concerning the prem[is]es alone or any part thereof alone in the Custody or power of the said Sr Wr Blackett or which he can come at without suit at law or in Equity” And true Copies of all such other Deeds Evidences and Writings as concern or relate to the said prem[is]es together with other Lands Tenements & hereditam[en]ts such Copies to be taken at the Costs and Charges of the said Richd Wilson his heirs or Assigns. I sho[ul]d be glad to know whether you approve of such Addition as the Words scored under amount to. I believe there is a Misnomer in the dra[ugh]t Mr Sambroke Freeman being named Freeman Sambroke. But I shall inform myself certainly when I get to the Office from whence I have been kept a day or two by a Cold; which I think is now going off. Your Letter for want of the word free under Tyne went to Sir Walter w[hi]ch occasioned a little loss of Time. As to what Judgements there may be affecting this Estate with others, I know no more of them than what Mr Darwin says who has all the Writings that there is a Judgement or two against Sr Wm Blackett which affected the whole Estate But as they have already been assigned in Trust to protect the inheritance he imagines you will scarce think it worth the Expence to assign again in case the proper Representatives of the Trustee can now be made out. He says Vyner & Glover’s Mortgage is to be assigned to Mr Plumbtree’s Trustees it being now his Money, of which he supposes you are apprized. You will excuse my mentioning that the next payment of int[e]r[es]t due 27 instt must be made within 40 days from that day or else £5 p[er]Cent[u]m must be paid. P.S. As to the Bargain and Sale, if you think it necessary I wish Mr Banks would settle the dra[ugh]t of it with Mr Darwin. I am etc HR
