	Sir Walter Blackett having ordered Enquiry to be made about what you wrote him concerning the School house at Chapel in Weardale desires me to give his Compliments & acquaint you, that he is no way concerned in that School or School house - that the Trustees of it say that they intend to appoint a New Master as soon as they can meet with one to their own Mind - that whatever use is made of the house till that time he will have the benefit of it - & that they do not think John Walton is a proper Person                           I am etc       HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
