Sir

	Having seen, by Sir Walter Blacketts Bond for Eleven hundred pounds to William Carr of Etal Esqr In trust for Mr. John Ord of Broomdikes his Wife and Children, that there is One hundred pounds of that Sum intended for you; I have accordingly paid to Mr Carr, upon his Receipt & Endorsement upon the Bond, the said £100: together with all interest due on the whole £1100 to the 19th instant - The interest I suppose Mr Carr will pay to Mrs Ord; of whom you can receive your share of it.  & as to the £100 he desires me to tell you he will pay it you on your coming to him at Etal for it, & giving him a proper discharge.  PS. Mr Carr says it will be necessary, as he does not know you, that you bring some person with you that he is acquainted with; or at least a Letter from some such person perhaps Mr Grey the Attorney in Berwick, who drew the Bond, may know you                                                          I am etc   HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
