To Sir Wr Blackett Bt. at Wallington Newcastle 1st Janry 1771 Honrd. Sir I apprehend the Notice which the Lessees of Unthank Colliery have given is conformable to the Lease and that they will quit the Colliery on this day twelve months but I will see Mr Fawcett against you come to Town & take his Opinion upon it. Inclosed is a Copy of John Aynsley’s Request that you will clear him of the Inn and Farm at Cambo, at Whitsuntide next. there is not in the Articles which I have sent to Mr Forster by this post, any power of determining it by giving notice to quit. In Conversation with Aynsley about his Arrear - his bad Circumstances - and as he declared loss by the House - he Happened to say he would be glad to be clear at Whitsuntide - & accordingly signed the Request to you , to that purpose. there is only a Week between the regular yearly Term of 12th May and Whitsuntide this Year. & I thought it better have it in your power to get clear of a bad tenant, than lose it by debating about the Week with him. Mrs. Dryden one of the Women in the Maids Hospital is dead. Miss Rudston is the foremost in the List; being applied for on the 4 Mar 1763 by Mr Simpson and Mr Davison. I am etc HR
