To Sir Wr Blackett Bt at Wallington Newca[stle] 10th Novr 1767 Hon[ou]r[e]d Sir Thomas Roxby has left his Cloaths and the Taylor is altering them for Jno Robinson who will come to Wallington as soon as they are done. Roxby says he is to have four Guineas in lieu of warning, which I do not remember you bid me pay him. You will please to give me directions about it. The Grove Stewards are gone with the Money & Mr Bell is gone with them. A Letter, which was to have come from Mr Wilson as Thursday last, about the payment of the money did not come till last post. I have been with the Bank to day about it and the Matter is now settled and the money will be paid here on Wednesday the 17th on Glyn & Hallifax’s bill being sent down to you, for £10000 which Mr Wilson will expect you to advise the receipt of by the return of the post. This Method, I think, I mentioned to you; but Mr Wilson’s silence has suspended the Affair till now, as we did not know but he might chuse some other method of remitting the money. Mr Fenwick has fixed the meeting of the Trustees of the Ponteland road to be on Saturday the 21st. Mr Mayor talks of holding the Common Council on this day Se’[ven]night, but will let you know of a Certainty on Saturday or Sunday next. I am etc. HR
