Sir Walter Blackett Bt MP Half moon Street Newcas 10th Novr 1775 Piccadilly London Honed Sir It would give me great Satisfaction to know that you are better. Mr Ralph Forster came here Yesterday. he was very unwilling to tell me further about his Affairs: but by degrees I got from him the inclosed particulars. As to giving you any further Security than the Bond & Judgement he thought he said it might injure the rest of his Creditors! indeed Mr Gibson who was here during part of our Conversation said the Bond & Judgement would signify little against the Leasehold Estates as Fellgate is mortgaged to its full value & in Lavrick Hall Mrs Forster has a joint Interest so there remains only his Household Goods & the Stock on his Farm which may together be worth £200. Mr Gibsons advice is for Mr & Mrs Forster to assign their Effects and the residue of their Intrest in the Leaseholds to Trustees for the benefit of all their Creditors & for you to accept your distribution Share thereof - He went home last Night to try what his Wife would agree to do, & to make up his last accot chusing to do it only with the help of the Schoolmaster. he thinks himself hardly used in the Tenants being told to pay him no more money & yet he has received £8. 14s. 6d for old Milstones since he was discharged but he says he has paid £9. 9s. 0d for a Mare for Philip. Mr Gibson will keep the Execution ready lest there should be occasion with respect to his Goods & Stock & will write by this Post to Mr Darwin: to whom I have also written. Mr Blackett is better & called upon me today; he desired I would say so & that he doubted he could not write to you to Night. I am better & am etc HR
