To Sir Walter Blackett Baro[ne]t M.P. Newcas[tle] 11th May 1764 in Halfmoon Street Piccadilly London Hon[ou]rd Sir Inclosed is a Copy of Mr Norton’s Opinion about Hexham Tolls & also a Copy of the Record of the Action at Law against John Scott for refusing Toll for Goods passing through the Manor to Stagshaw Bank Fair. I was at Wallington this week receiving your Rents; but the Tenants have run still more in arrears. We have let John Donkins farm at Kenton to Bryan & William Lowry for seven years at £160 a year: which is ten pounds a year more than Donkin paid. P.S. Mr Norton’s opinion comes under another cover as it would have made this too heavy. I am etc H R
