To Sir W[alte]r Blackett B[arone]t at Wallington Newcas[tle] 17th Aug[u]st 1766 Hon[ou]rd I saw Mr Brown yesterday & he promised to send me his opinion of the Boghill Colliery, in writing, this morning: but it is not yet come. I find his opinion is that 10d a ten is a sufficient tentale rent for any coals the Lessees can get there, or others that it is too high: but that 5d is too low. I wish the colliery co[ul]d be let for I do believe she will not turn to advantage in yo[u]r own head- they are still drawing money from me. I p[ai]d £30 the other day& now between 30 & £40 more is wanted. & if you are to build pitman’s houses, before you let her, that will be a further sum cast away, I doubt. Inclosed is a receipt wch Mr Peareth took from Mr Bonnell for the little box he delivered him. I am etc HR p.s. Inclosed is Mr Brown’s Lre about the colliery
