Half Moon Street Piccadilly London Newca[stle] 21st Janry 1769 Hon[ou]r[e]d Sir The people interested in Wolsingham East Town field w[hi]ch contains about 200 Acres, are desirous of having it divided by Act of Parliament; for it is at present an open field, enjoyed in Ridges, and some of the proprietors have so many detached pieces therein that it is of little value to them. Mr Bacons Ex[ecu]tors are the principal proprietors and have got the Consent of all the rest but yourself; Last Saturday was the first of my hearing of their intention & you will very likely have an Appliction to Night from Mr Chrisr Johnson of Durham about it, who is appointed Solicitor. Your intrest in this Field is very small; being only one Ridge of Land, containing near half an Acre - one End of which adjoins upon Kings Street, or high way and the other upon your little Estate called the Mill Close – the whole of which with this Ridge included is let for Six Pounds a Year. It is necessary to have this Ridge preserved to you as the directest way from the road to the Mill Close. I am etc HR
