Sir My Brother is not yet returned from London, but the Gentlemen of the Newcastle Bank will lend you a thousand pounds on your Bond at £ 4 & 2s p Cent. Which if you approve of Mr Darwin may fill up a Bond accordingly to Matthew Bell of Newcastle upon Tyne Esq. and one of the Aldermen of the said Town and on the Bond being sent to me I will receive the Money and remit it either to Mr Simond or Mr Darwin as you please. As to the Woodcroft deeds, they are not ready - Mr Fawcett has settled the draft for Mr Ward; and Mr Wilson has approved of the same for you - but Mr Ward only got from London last Tuesday and being fatigued with his Journey has sent his Attorney to tell me he will come as soon as he is recovered and examine the draft. I shall take Care during your Absence to go to Wallington whenever occasion shall require, & see that the Instructions you have given be observed in every respect. Mr & Mrs Blackett are very well, and desire their Compliments to you; and Mr Blackett says he will write to you soon. I have received your Letter by this days post - the three Kits of Salmon will be Shipt tomorrow; and the 30 pounds of mustard will be sent, I expect, by the London Carrier that sets out to morrow. Major Carr is going abroad for a fortnight, but if you sign the inclosed promissory Note, inserting a date, and return it I can receive the hundred pounds when he comes home. I am etc HR
