To Sir Walter Blackett Barot. M.P. Newcas. Christmas day 1772 in Half Moon Street Piccadilly London Honrd. Sir I met with Mr. Fawcett & Mr. Wilson yesterday about the Winlaton Division & find the effecting it will require more parchment and time than was at first supposed. They are of Opinion that Mr. Gordon & the Representatives of the other Sisters of the late Sir Wm. Blackett must be parties to the Division Deed or at least sign the petition to parliament to confirm it - but Mr Darwin will be wrote to this post more fully by Mr. Jacob Lambert the Attorney who called upon me the other day to tell me Sir Edwd. Blackett had employed him in this Business & he hoped you would favour him with your part of it. I am glad you are so well & wish you many happy Returns of this Season I am etc HR
