To Sir Wr Blackett Baro[ne]t MP in half moon street Newca[stle] 26th May 1767 Piccadilly London Hon[ou]r[e]d Sir Inclosed is Mr Brown’s plan & report of Rothley Colliery As he advises to Bore in the first place, in order to the making a proper discovery of the colliery, & as that can be done at a small Expense, I desired him to give directions about it. The three kitts of Salmon are ship’d according to the inclosed Note, and the Ship is sailed. My Brother Says the purchase of Hawick has been stopp’d by Mr Fawcetts Illness; who has had a Rheumatic fever; but is now thought to be out of Danger. I am glad you are like to raise the money in London for Lady Loraines £6000; for I doubt it will not be easy to meet with such a Sum here at 4 p centum. I shall deliver your Letter as soon as I can see Mr Cookson who is at present out of Town. Your getting so little sleep, & the Effect that has upon your Nerves, gives me much Concern: I perswade myself you would be better at Wallington; or any where, abstracted from the business that occasions you so much Uneasiness.
