Letter – Henry Richmond to Walter Blackett – 27 Aug 1767

To Sir Walter Blackett Baro[ne]t at Wallington                                 Newca[stle] 27th Augst 1767

Hon[ou]r[e]d Sir

I will write to Mr Wilson that you will be here from Fryday Evening the 4th to Sunday noon the 6th of next Month & desire an Answer by the return of the post, and when I get it will send it to Wallington. I will write by Frydays post to Mr Bell to come to Wallington on Sunday; and if my coming will be any Service, I will do it when you please. So far as I have conversed with Mr Forster he seems a sensible man, and the Acco[un[t given of him by others is consonant to it; and therefore I hope when he is initiated & resident he will be able to adjust all matters at Wallington to your Satisfaction. Mr Wm Brown told me he would be at Wallington on Wednesday next and give full instructions about Rothley Colliery. My Brother told me sometime ago, when I mentioned to him that Mr Curry’s wife was a likely person to give some Information about the Smiths family, that she could not give any Acco[un]t of the persons he was enquiring after.

I am very sorry you are not so well as when you were here. I hear the Mayor is ill of the Gout, or some other Disorder in his Bowels; tho’ I hope in no hazardous way. I am etc    HR
