Honrd. Sir     I have remitted £600 pounds to Mr. Simond and sent him the third present of pine Apples.  Inclosed is the Venison Acct. & agreeable to your Letter of the 12th instant from Brussells no more will be killed, but for the Guild.   I delivered your message to Mr Lanct. Brown, who understood readily the impropriety of his Request: he would not take any payment, desiring me to assure you, that any trouble he had been at was intirely at your Service.  I hope there will be plenty of Game in all your Moors next Year;  for I am told they have been well preserved everywhere,  The Members of Chollerford Club intend to give a Ball at Hexham on the 7th Novemr. & have desired the Great Room in the Abbey for the occasion; which I have presumed to suppose you would have no objection to. 

    Hexham Bridge was finished on Tuesday last, as I am told; but it has not yet been certified for - when that is done £159 will be payable to the Contractors & I shall advertise for the payment of the Subscriptions.  Mr Reed of Chipchase is quite well again.  Sir Lanct. & Lady Allgood and family are very well & likewise Mrs Widdrington who is just come from them and desires her Compliments and their’s to you.  I have seen Mr Bigge and given your Compliments to him  - he got home abt. ten days ago and is very well & expressed himself much obliged to you.

    I have paid Mr Ward £6 16d 6d which he had laid out in Charity for you,  Yesterday were married in this Town Mr John Askew & Miss Watson.    At the Meeting at York on the 25 instant Sir Geo. Armitage was in the Chair.  Sir George Saville was there & reported the reception their petition had met with, but said nothing to countenance a Remonstrance but Mr Turner and Sir C Wray urged the Necessity of One; but were opposed by Lord E Cavendish and others who carried it by a great Majority for instructing their Members, only.  I do not think there will be any such protrusion of Advice here.  but hope all Things will go onto morrow as usual.  indeed the Appearance of foreign Enemies to Contend with seems to have abated the Sagesness of our domestic disputes.

     1st Octr. i.e. Michas Monday.  The Election is over very quietly.  Mr Surtees is chosen Mayor & Mr James Liddell, his partner, Sherif; & the other Officers as usual.  Mr Bell was not there!  Mr Reed, the late Sherif, has only one child, a Boy.  they are both very well and he returns you Thanks for your Enquiry.  I beg leave to return mine for your Enquiry after my Family: we are very well & rejoice at the good Account Mr Bigge gives of your Health.  All your Friends do so.  I am etc    HR
