Honrd. Sir      Mr Richard Brown has given me Mr Simpsons Note.  He says the Dutchess of Portland has ordered Moor game & Partridge to be killed in her Manors, during the Season, and sent to her.  he proposed that Philip should kill them, or else he would employ one he could depend upon.  I told him I could not employ Philip to kill Game without your Order.  On the Contrary directions are given, as you ordered, for the preservation of it within your several Manors; and additional Men are set to watch the Moors, as was done last year.  Since my Letter of the 14 of June, directed to Mr Oglevy’s at Spa, nothing material has occurred. Our Races were last Week. but there was little Company, very wet & cold Weather & no diversion.  Sir Edw. & Lady Blackett & their Son & Daughter came sooner than was expected, & were at Mr Blacketts during the week.  I sent thither some Pine Apples & Grapes, from Wallington; and have sent four Pine Apples to Mr Simond.  Please to acquaint Mr Trevelyan that on the 25 of last month I remitted to Messrs. Simond & Hankey £100, on his Acct; being the Quarterage due the day before.

    The Duke & Dutchess of Northumberland came here late last Night, they are at Newburn today & go to Alnwick tomorrow

     The Acount of your being in the Storm and the Fear that you had got cold by it, made me uneasy; So I was glad to find by your letter from Brussells that you were well.     I am etc    HR
