Inclosed is the form of a Letter to Mr Wilson of Leeds acknowledging the receipt of the Ten Thousand pounds for the purchase of Kenton. And also the forms of two Letters to the two mortgagees of Mr Smith’s Estate at Hawick giving notice that you intend to pay them off.

Mr Rd Featherston being gone to London I cannot get any good Acco[un]t about Extra Clerks in the Treasury Office. Mr Thos Henzel says there are some, but believes their Number is limitted, - no body else here, that I can think of knows any thing of this Office.

I have a bill for £1200 ready to be remitted to Mr Darwin, which will be due on the 2d of next Month – if you will please to give me directions in your Letter to do so, as a Voucher to my Account. P.S. I will send the paper wax and Wafers to Wallington by the Cart on Saturday. I am glad the Matter is settled about Mr Bell.
