Sir The Inclosed Letter and one that Mr Blackett said he would write make it unnecessary for me to say what passed yesterday at the Guild - the abuse turned all upon Mr Ridley: but the Recorder interposing with Spirit put an End to it. Mr Ridley told me yesterday he thought he would not trouble you with a Letter, as he had written since he heard from you. The Mayor received your Letter as he came from the Guild & communicated it, to the general Satisfaction of your friends. By the same post I recd your Letter of the 1st instant and shall go to Wallington this week and collect the particulars about the Farms Gardens & other Matters those that you want to have account of. At present I do not think of any thing to add, but that I am very glad you have received benefit from going abroad & hope it will last you long after your return home, which will be a Satisfaction to many and to etc HR PS. Please to let me know whether, as Mr Peareth and Mr Cookson have had their haunches & Lieut. Scott half a Buck, you wod. have a Doe killed to give them another half - & if so, to whom the rest should be given?
