Wr. & James Robertson Newcas. 2 April 1770 Merchants at Lynn Regis Gentlemen Sir Walter Blackett has desired me to answer your Letter to him of the 29 Ulto., enquiring about his Lead. which I beg leave to do by acquainting you that it is always brought to this Market for Sale. that he does not export any of it himself but sells it to the Merchants here without risk or further trouble. So that if you should chuse to deal at this port in this Article you will please to send your Commissions to one of them - the principal of whom are Wm. Peareth Esq. Mr Jonan. Sorsbie, Mr Ralph Carr & Co. Messrs Mosley and Airey. There is very little Lead at this Markett at present, and I do not expect above 2000 ps. can be brought hither for six weeks to come. Our pieces are 11 Stone of 14 pos. each but Lead is here sold by the Fother of 21 w<th>. of 112 pod. each. The present price is £14.10s.0d p fother for the refined sort & £14.5s.0d for the Com[m]on. What the Commission and other Charges amount to I do not know, having avoided engaging in the Concession Way. as there is a kind of inconsistency in being both buyer and Seller. I am etc HR
