To Mr Will. Archbold at West Ord Newcas. 2nd Septr. 1771 near Berwick Sir I have laid before Sir Walter Blackett the several proposals sent me for a Lease of his Fisheries in the Tweed; in pursuance of the Advertisement in the Newspapers, & Sir Walter bids me write you that another proposal being equal to yours it is necessary some addition should be made to each, that he may determine which to accept. And further as each of you desire an Allowance for the reparation of the Fisheries Sir Walter thinks it right to acquaint you that he is willing to allow, if necessary, the Sum of Ten pounds a year & no more, for the repair of all his Fisheries in the Tweed during the three years; on producing vouchers for the payments - & that he will not be at any further Expence whatever on Account of these fisheries except the Allowance of the Land tax. You will please to Name the Security you propose & to let me hear from you soon. I am etc HR
