To Mr. Darwin - Greys Inn Newcas. 10th Novr. 1772 London Dear Sir I congratulate you on your Marriage & heartily wish you and Mrs. Darwin every happiness the Domestic Life affords. & hope next year you will bring her to Newcastle to make amends for your Neglect of coming This. Inclosed is Bell Cookson & Cos. bill on Castell and Co. for Two hundred & Seventy five Pounds to enable you to make the quarterly & other Payments for Sir Walter Blackett to 31st. Decemr. next. You will Please to place the same to his Accot. & send me the usual Receipt for it - The Money which I mentioned as paid off was meant to be the £2000 due to you as Extr. of Mr. Denton. I see by the News Papers that our Old Acquaintance Mrs. Denton is dead - I shall in a little time write or speak again to Mr. Johnson about the Postea. for I see by a Letter I had from him dated 3d. May last, in answer to mine of 29th. April, that he says. “I have received your favour & have got the Record drawn up Pursuant to your Instructions which shall be sent to Mr Darwin in two or three Days” - So he must find it soon, or we must be advised what to do! My sister desires her Compliments & is obliged to you for your Readiness to assist her - She has not heard yet from Mr. Matt.
