Mr Darwin Hatton Street London Newcas 10th Novr 1775 Sir I hope Sr Wr Blackett is better of his Cold - it will give me great Satisfaction to know That - With regard to your Letter of the 4 instant I immediately upon Receipt of it sent to Cambo for Mr Ra Forster - he came here Yesterday about One o’Clock but shewed great Reluctance to tell me any thing further of the State of his Affairs than what he told Sir Walter at my House or to do any thing that wod prejudice his other Creditors - At length by getting Mr Gibson to talk to him (from whom by the by I find the Bond & Judgement is of little avail to us) we obtained from him an accot of all his Effects as inclosed; by which it appears, & indeed Mr Gibsons advice is Consonant thereto, that nothing else can be done than getting an Assignment of his Effects to Trustees for the benefit of all his Creditors - he went home last Night in order to make up his Accot with Sir Walter & to see whether his Wife will assign her Interest in the Lease he takes it very ill The Tenants should have been told to pay no more money to him & says he would not have received any more but nevertheless he has received since he ought not 8.14.6 for old Milstones but he says he has paid Nine Guineas for a Mare; by this at least shewing an Inclination to go on with his Cash Accot tho he has been discharged & certainly ought to have been so publickly; having used Sir Wr Blackett very ill - Mr Gibson will keep the Execution in Reserve & will write to you about this Matter by this Nights Post - he will also write you by this Nights Post or in a post or two about purchasing (for Sr Wr Blackett) the Interest which a person who lives in the Strand has to some old Houses & Ground in the High bridge here adjoining Sir Walters.
