To Mr Darwin Greys Inn London Newca[stle] 12th Augst 1767 Sir Inclosed is Michl Archer’s bond for £18 10s 0d which I have got from Mr Robson’s Executor. Inclosed also is a Letter from Mr John Bell about Hexham East Boat Rake which Sir Walter bids me send you that you may consider of the Alteration he proposes to have made in the Articles for the purchase of it. As to what he says of two Boats I should suppose it best to insert general Words that will convey them both; for tho’ there might originally have been but one within the bounds described Yet he says there now are two. Sir Walter understands he is not to pay the £1200 till after the last Arch of the bridge is finished and that the receipt for the Money is Then to be taken on the back of these Articles, & desires to know whether he apprehends this matter right. Sir Walter bids me write you that he expects a definitive Answer in a post or two from Mr Wilson about East Kenton and therefore would not have you insert the Advertisement about Money till further Consideration. As it seems likely Mr Wilson will take this Estate and as if he does £10000 of the purchase money is to be paid on the 18th Novemr next & the rest, i.e. £14000 is to remain in Mr Wilson’s hand under the present mortgage Sir Walter would have you be considering how to expedite the conveyance as much as possible that no disappointment may happen in the payment of the money. I am etc HR P.S. I have received of Mr Greenwell Three pounds nine shillings and four pence for Roger Crosby’s receipt and placed the same to your Acco[un]t. He says he will consider & give me an Ans[we]r about purchasing this Out Rent; w[hi]ch I suppose Crosby can make a title to: tho’ I see it is entailed.
